Automatic Lock arm Awnings

back home

Lock Arm awnings are deemed as the most well-known External Blinds today. These awnings that had been commonly known as “Storm Blinds” were introduced in Australia as a concept dating some 40 years ago. They serve as a filter with a dual function in any living space: preventing harmful ultraviolet rays and allowing shaded light to pass through.

These awnings are produced in widths measuring up to 3950mm. They are generally fitted on the surface of an external wall or opening, typically 150mm over each side of the window reveal, and secured to a brick (not to the mortar in between) or a wooden substrate. Aside from windows, they are also suitable for gazebos, porches and even under eaves. When installed under an eave, installation of a hood is optional depending on the protection provided by the overhang.
